This webinar:
- explored the way quality texts can inspire quality writing in the classroom
- provided support for teachers in choosing texts to use with their pupils
- considered some tasks and activities that are likely to promote quality writing
- featured an input from Susanna Bailey, author of the highly acclaimed novel ‘Otters’ Moon’, the quality published text in Bite into Writing book 3.
Participants were able to engage with the authors of NFER's new resource Bite into Writing, Margaret Fennell and Jo Shackleton, who shared some pupil writing inspired by ‘Otters’ Moon’.
Margaret and Jo talked through their approach to selecting the quality published texts for Bite into Writing and discussed some of the tasks and activities that inspired the pupils’ work. Susanna Bailey joined them and provided her views on how to inspire creative writing and more.
A moderated Q&A session was held after the presentation, where participants had an opportunity to ask questions.
