Next steps for teacher recruitment and retention in England

Westminster Education Forum is holding a policy conference, which will bring together stakeholders and policymakers to discuss strategies to increase teacher recruitment and priorities for improving teacher retention.

At 09:05am, NFER’s School Workforce Lead, Jack Worth, will be delivering a keynote address on the new Labour government’s commitment on recruiting 6,500 teachers and how they might be able to achieve this. Jack will be drawing on research from NFER's school workforce research, which includes our annual Teacher Labour Market in England 2024 report, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.
