Summary

In March, NFER published its 7th annual report on the Teacher Labour Market in England. This report, funded by the Nuffield Foundation, monitors the progress the education system in England is making towards meeting the teacher supply challenge and the Government’s pledge for 6,500 new teachers by measuring the key indicators of teacher supply and working conditions.

This webinar, chaired by Jon Severs (Editor at Tes Magazine), began with NFER’s School Workforce Lead, Jack Worth, summarising some of the key findings of the report, highlighting the latest trends in recruitment, retention, workload and pay.

Panellists:

  • Jack Worth, School Workforce Lead, NFER
  • Manny Botwe, ASCL President and Headteacher, Tytherington School
  • Anna McShane, Director, The New Britain Project
