The National Apprenticeships Conference 2025

Following the new government’s promise on a ‘comprehensive strategy’ for post-16 education, Government Events is holding their National Apprenticeships Conference to discuss the barriers in recruiting and delivering apprenticeships and how we can overcome them.

At 11.35am, NFER’s Research Director, Suzanne Straw, will be holding a session to understand the barriers to apprenticeships participation and to discuss strategies to overcome this. She will be drawing on NFER’s report ‘Barriers to young people accessing intermediate and advanced apprenticeships’, which showed that young people often lack in-depth understanding of apprenticeships resulting in them not getting to the point of applying for one.
