A recent study by NFER, funded by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and the HG Foundation, investigated how secondary school science teachers could use ChatGPT to support lesson planning and preparation. The research explored whether integrating ChatGPT could reduce planning time.
As part of the study, we developed recommendations for schools; offering guidance on how generative AI tools like ChatGPT can be effectively used to reduce teacher workload and improve the lesson planning process.

In a first for NFER Classroom, and to support as many teachers and schools as possible, these school outputs are also available in the Welsh language.
