House of Commons Education Committee Opportunity Areas Inquiry: NFER submission

The House of Commons Education Committee launched a short inquiry into the Government’s Opportunity Areas programme in April 2019. It explores how key projects or areas of work are assisting disadvantaged children and young people and how outcomes and impact are being measured and evaluated.

In a submission to the inquiry, NFER as a partner in a consortium commissioned by the Department for Education to undertake an evaluation of the impact of Opportunity Areas, presented information on the work we carried out in the first year on the place-based evaluation: progress and delivery research and the cross-cutting themes research.
