The National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) has been funded by the Hg Foundation to develop a new measure (in this case a survey) to help understand young people’s views about and interest in having a career in tech.

This work is being undertaken as part of an evaluation of the Speakers for Schools (SfS) IntoTech programme but is funded separately.

Who can take part?

State secondary schools in England who are not participating in the SfS IntoTech programme.

What does participation involve?

Schools administering an anonymous 20–30-minute online survey to a group of Year 10 students.

How will you benefit from taking part?

As a thank you, we are offering all participating schools a £200 Amazon voucher to use at their discretion.

What are the timings for this project?

The project will run from January to August 2025.  There will be two stages of survey development with pupil survey administration in February and May 2025. Schools are invited to participate in either the February or May pupil survey.
