NFER Appoints New Trustees

The National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER), a leading independent research organisation, has today announced the appointment of four new members to its Board of Trustees.

Professor Michael Day (Education Consultant), Susan Douglas (Chief Executive of The Eden Academy Trust), Hema Ghantiwala (Chief Counsel Global Services at NCR Corporation) and Nick Hillman (Director of the Higher Education Policy Institute) join the existing Board, which is chaired by Lorna Cocking.

NFER’s Board of Trustees is responsible for agreeing the aims and direction of the Foundation, with the day-to-day management delegated to the Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. The Trustees approve the annual budget and provide strategic guidance on the role and mission of NFER. They also have critical roles advising on a number of important NFER working groups to provide additional insight and perspective.

Speaking on the new appointments, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Lorna Cocking said: “On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am delighted to welcome Michael, Susan, Hema and Nick to our team. They bring a wealth of experience and expertise that will benefit NFER’s work and complement the current Board. I look forward to working with them.
