The Schools & Academies Show is returning to Birmingham to bring together the education sector’s influential speaker’s to share their knowledge and expertise.

At 10.30am, on the main stage, NFER’s Quantitative Research Director, Jude Hillary, will be joining John Edwards (Department for Education), The Rt Hon Lord Knight of Weymouth (Former Minister of State for Schools), Leora Cruddas CBE (Confederation of School Trusts) and Paul Gosling (National Association of Headteachers) on a panel to discuss ‘The 2030 Transformation Journey’. Jude will be drawing on upcoming research by NFER on ‘What does the evidence tell us about the road to full academisation?’

At 2.25pm in the Leaders’ Town Hall, NFER’s School Workforce Lead, Jack Worth, will be joining Alix Robertson (Centre for Education and Youth), Emma Hollis (National Association of School Based Teacher Trainers), Kevin Lister (Stratford Upon Avon School), Paul Gosling (National Association of Headteachers), and William Yates (University of Cambridge) on a panel to discuss ‘The State of Teacher Recruitment and Retention’. Jack will be drawing on research from NFER’s annual report ‘Teacher Labour Market in England 2022’, which found that there is a substantial risk that a large range of secondary subjects will not meet recruitment targets in 2022.
